Today, Friday, October 30, 2026, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said in a statement that a giant oil tanker exploded after passing through a prohibited route in the Strait of Hormuz. They also stressed that this was the third incident of its kind recorded in the waterway today.
Earlier, Iranian media had reported hearing several explosions from the direction of the sea near the areas of "Sirik" and "Qeshm Island."
Meanwhile, the Fars news agency reported that the explosions heard near Sirik and Qeshm Island may have been warning shots fired by naval forces at vessels in the Strait of Hormuz that had violated their instructions.
