Today, Friday, October 30, 2026, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a post on the social media platform "X" that all US military uncrewed boats and vessels in the Middle East are safe and accounted for. It also stressed that this includes an advanced group of uncrewed boats conducting patrols in the Strait of Hormuz to support the US defense system.
CENTCOM accused Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of spreading false rumors, noting that similar fabricated claims by Iran have been repeated several times this week. This came after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said earlier today, Friday, that three oil tankers had exploded and caught fire after transiting the Strait of Hormuz along an unauthorized route.
The developments come amid growing tensions between the United States and Iran over maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, which is regarded as a strategic route for global energy supplies and through which nearly one-fifth (20%) of the world’s oil consumption passes.
The report concluded that the central dispute between the two countries over shipping routes has intensified. Iran has described some maritime routes as dangerous and prohibited, demanding that vessels coordinate with its naval forces. The United States, meanwhile, continues to insist on ensuring freedom of navigation through the strait and says its forces remain committed to protecting the waterways and clearing them of naval mines.
