Today, Friday, October 30, 2026, the Saudi-led Arab Coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognized government said in a statement that the country’s air defenses had intercepted and destroyed a drone over the Medina area after it was launched by Iran-backed Houthi fighters.
The statement said Saudi Arabia had previously accused Houthi fighters several times of attempting to target the holy cities of Mecca and Medina with ballistic missiles and drones. The Houthis, for their part, have repeatedly denied those allegations.
