The Erbil Central District administration said in a statement that its joint committees, in coordination with Erbil municipal police and the Erbil General Directorate of Tourism, had shut down the Benelli restaurant in Erbil.
The statement said the measure followed prior information and a detailed investigation and monitoring operation conducted by the relevant teams. The operation confirmed that the Benelli restaurant had committed a serious legal violation by allowing children and adolescents under the age of 18 to consume alcoholic beverages inside the restaurant.
The Erbil administration said the restaurant was immediately closed by the teams, while its owner was also subjected to stringent legal measures.
At the end of the statement, the relevant authorities stressed that they would continue inspecting and monitoring all public places and would not allow any violation that could endanger public security, safety or morals, particularly those of children and minors.
