Today, Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the Erbil Provincial Police Directorate issued a set of official guidelines and warnings for all citizens who use social media, particularly the TikTok platform, to appear and livestream.
The statement said: “In order to protect social customs and culture and prevent undesirable phenomena, Erbil Police informs all citizens that, from now on, the use of inappropriate language, swearing, insulting one another, or publishing unsuitable images and content on social media is not permitted in any way.” It stressed that, in addition to violating social values, such behavior leads to various problems and crimes. Anyone who violates these rules will therefore face strict legal accountability.
Erbil Police also said: “We warn those who livestream on social media that they must visit the Erbil Provincial Police Directorate within (15 days) to open a special file, sign an undertaking and receive official instructions.” It further warned that anyone who fails to comply will be held legally responsible.
