Two years after the first session of the Kurdistan Parliament, a plenary session was held today, Wednesday, with 52 lawmakers in attendance, and the parliament’s presidium was elected.
Today, Wednesday, October 4, 2026, the Kurdistan Parliament convened with 52 lawmakers from various blocs in attendance, and voting was held to elect the parliament’s presidium.
The Kurdistan Parliament’s presidium is as follows:
Dr. Vala Farid was elected speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament.
Rami Nuri was elected deputy speaker of the Kurdistan Parliament.
Mona Nabi Qahwachi was elected secretary of the Kurdistan Parliament.
