The Erbil Civil Defence spokesperson said the city’s streets are currently experiencing heavy traffic, creating a major obstacle to the movement of emergency vehicles. As a result, they are unable to reach residents who contact them and urgently need assistance in a timely manner.
The Civil Defence spokesperson called on all media outlets, websites and social media pages to widely circulate the warning so it reaches all residents. The spokesperson also urged media organizations to reduce unnecessary phone calls at this time, as all Civil Defence teams are at incident sites and busy assisting residents.
