In a message issued tonight, 7 November 2026, the governor of Sulaymaniyah said: “As Sulaymaniyah Governorate, our hearts, minds and thoughts are with Erbil Governorate, the beloved capital of the Kurdistan Region, and with every part of this Kurdistan and homeland.”
Dr. Haval Abubakir also reaffirmed the governorate’s full support, saying: “Alongside our prayers, we reiterate the full readiness and support of the people and local government of Sulaymaniyah for any task, assistance, coordination or cooperation required by Erbil Governorate. We ask Almighty God to make this rain a blessing for us and to protect everyone from any hardship, disaster or unwanted incident.”
