Today, Sunday, November 8, 2026, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani spoke by telephone with Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw to follow up on the consequences of last night’s flooding in Erbil and review the damage it caused, particularly the losses suffered by residents.
The Kurdistan Region president expressed his sympathy and offered condolences to the families and relatives of the flood victims. He instructed the Erbil governor and relevant authorities to provide all necessary assistance and support to those impacted and affected, while taking the necessary steps to address the aftermath of the flooding.
For his part, the Erbil governor provided an update on the situation, the extent of the damage and the measures taken. He also reiterated his thanks and appreciation to the Kurdistan Region president for following up on and continuing to pay close attention to the situation of residents and those affected.
