It has been decided that tonight, Thursday, the presidency of the Council of Representatives and the heads of parliament’s factions will hold a special and important meeting with Ali al-Zeidi, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Iraq, to discuss the issue of raising the value of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 8:00 tonight inside the building of Iraq’s Council of Representatives in the city of Baghdad.
Several political and parliamentary issues will be discussed at the meeting, but the most important topic of the meeting will be the rise in the value of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar.
Last Tuesday, the Iraqi government officially raised the value of the dollar from 132 thousand dinars to 152 thousand dinars, which provoked widespread discontent in parliament and among the Iraqi public.
