The spokesperson for the Iraqi government revealed that, due to the difficult financial situation, they had asked Tehran to allow Iraqi oil to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, but the Iranian side had given no response to the request.
Haider al-Aboudi, spokesperson for the Iraqi government, revealed that Baghdad had officially asked the Islamic Republic of Iran to allow Iraqi oil to be exported and transported through the Strait of Hormuz in order to prevent the country’s further financial collapse, but Tehran has so far completely ignored Baghdad’s request and has provided no response.
Al-Aboudi stressed that Iraq’s economy is under siege and that none of the international or regional parties are providing facilities for the export and transit of its oil.
He also stated that Iran’s disregard and silence have further complicated Iraq’s economic and financial situation.
