Iraq’s Central Bank issued a new decision on the foreign-exchange rate and officially set the selling price of each dollar to citizens at 1,520 Iraqi dinars.
According to the Central Bank’s decision, this rate has been designated as the official selling rate for dollars to citizens. The measure comes within the framework of the Central Bank’s monetary policies to regulate the currency market and stabilize the value of the Iraqi dinar against the US dollar.
The decision is expected to have a direct impact on Iraq’s domestic markets and the Kurdistan Region, and to constitute an effort to reduce the differences between the official rate and the free-market rate.
