The price of Brent crude rose to 114 dollars, its highest level since last May, while Reuters attributed the increase to attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities.
Today, Friday, 23 October 2026, the price of Brent crude in global markets recorded its highest level since May, reaching (114) dollars per barrel, after rising by more than 3% on Thursday and surpassing (112) dollars.
Meanwhile, the price of the benchmark "West Texas Intermediate" crude exceeded (100) dollars in this morning's trading. The price of the UAE's "Murban" crude, which is considered a benchmark for Middle Eastern oil prices, also rose by more than four dollars, reaching (114) dollars and (30) cents.
The "Reuters" news agency attributed the sudden surge in oil prices to the recent attacks by Houthi militants on Saudi energy facilities and the issuance of an order to evacuate employees of Saudi Arabia's national oil company (Aramco) from several fields.
