Iraq's Integrity Commission announced the seizure of documents for seven properties registered in the names of the spouse and relatives of the former director of the Accounting Department of Salahaddin Governorate, from whose home billions of dinars had previously also been seized.
Today, Sunday, 11 of October 2026, Iraq's Integrity Commission said in a statement that, pursuant to a judicial order from the Central Investigation Court for Corruption Crimes, a team from the Integrity Investigation Office in Salahaddin Governorate raided the home of the detained suspect, the former director of the Accounting Division at the Salahaddin Governorate Office, in the district of Alam.
The statement said that the inspections and investigations resulted in the seizure of the original files for three houses in residential complexes, two of which were registered in the name of the suspect's spouse and the third in his own name. Four other property deeds were also seized, registered in the names of his spouse, his spouse's brother and one of his sons.
The Integrity Commission also indicated that, at the end of last July, two billion and 500 million dinars were seized from the suspect's home. At the same time, six investment properties registered in his spouse's name were uncovered. The suspect was detained under Article (340) of the Iraqi Penal Code for arranging and cashing a bank cheque worth (425) million dinars on the basis of a fictitious and forged document.
