Iran’s foreign minister stated that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will not return to the pre-war phase, and that ensuring stability in the region requires the complete withdrawal of foreign forces, while expressing Iran’s readiness for talks with the countries of the region.
Today, Sunday 25 of October 2026, Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s foreign minister, stated in a comment: "The situation in the Strait of Hormuz will in no way return to the situation that existed before the war; likewise, achieving peace and stability in the region requires bringing the presence of foreign forces to a complete end."
Iran’s foreign minister noted that the security structure of some countries in the region, which had previously relied on foreign intervention, has now collapsed, adding: "U.S. military bases in the region have not provided security for anyone; rather, they have become a cause of instability."
In another part of his remarks, Abbas Araqchi welcomed any step to ensure the security of the region through the countries of the region themselves, and stated that his country is ready for dialogue on this issue. He also reiterated that Iran has always emphasized the need to achieve stability and bring an end to conflicts on all fronts throughout the region.
