Iraq’s prime minister held a private meeting in Baghdad today, Monday, with a number of sheikhs and figures from Arab tribes. The meeting focused on several important issues, one of which was the indication that 5 armed groups had agreed to hand over their weapons to the government.
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Zeydi said at the beginning of the meeting: The economic crisis that has now emerged around the world has had a major impact on Iraq’s economy.
He stated: In 2031, Iraq’s oil production will reach 10 million barrels per day.
Ali Zeydi said elsewhere in his remarks: We have established the Future Generations Fund in Iraq, and have now allocated 1.5 trillion dinars to it. The money recovered through anti-corruption processes will also be deposited into the fund’s account.
He also said: 5 armed groups have indicated their agreement to hand over their weapons to the government; three of those groups have actually handed over their weapons, while talks with the others are continuing.
The Iraqi prime minister also announced: The blood of Iraqis is our responsibility; it is our duty to prevent the shedding of the blood of any Iraqi.
He also stressed that they allocate 500 billion dinars monthly to pay farmers’ financial entitlements.
Regarding the region’s complexities, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Zeydi said: We are making every effort to keep Iraq away from the wars and conflicts in the region.
