The spokesperson for the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in the Iraqi Council of Representatives announced that today, Thursday, 15 October 2026, the Iraqi Council of Representatives is scheduled to convene to vote on completing Ali Faleh Zaidi’s government cabinet and filling the vacant ministerial posts.
Dr. Dana Abdulghafar Aziz, spokesperson for the Democratic Party bloc in the Council of Representatives, revealed in a statement that the Kurdistan Democratic Party has designated its official nominees for the ministerial quotas in Zaidi’s cabinet as follows:
Dr. Faris Sheikh Siddiq Brifkani: for the post of deputy prime minister of Iraq.
Ribaz Mohammed Abdullah Mahad (Ribaz Hamlan): for the post of minister of construction and housing.
A vote on these nominees and filling the remaining ministerial posts in Ali Zaidi’s cabinet is scheduled to take place today during a session of the Iraqi Parliament.
