Mercedes-AMG unveiled its newest powerful electric vehicle, the “AMG GT SUV,” in Stuttgart. The vehicle closely resembles the four-door coupe in terms of design and performance, but has noticeably larger dimensions.
The new vehicle relies on three axial-flow motors: one at the front and two at the rear. In the (63) version, they can deliver 1153 horsepower to the wheels at maximum performance. The motors are powered by an 800-volt battery pack equipped with a liquid-cooling system to support powerful, sustained driving.
These specifications enable the vehicle to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in 2.4 seconds and produce continuous power of up to 711 horsepower.
In terms of weight and battery capacity, unlike its predecessor, which offered only a 106-kilowatt-hour battery, this SUV (high-riding SUV) offers two battery options: 106 and 128 kilowatt-hours. The larger version supports DC fast charging at up to 710 kilowatts and has a range of up to 434 miles under the WLTP standard. The vehicle also rides on a new suspension system called “AMG Active Ride Control+,” which helps reduce body roll and control the vehicle’s weight.
The interior has a style similar to the coupe model and is filled with displays angled toward the driver. At the same time, the “MB.OS” artificial-intelligence system is integrated into the vehicle, while the rear is highly comfortable thanks to its carpeting and soft headrests. In addition, artificial engine sounds and simulated gear changes have been incorporated to preserve the sporty driving experience. The vehicle’s price in the United States has not yet been announced, but the base (53) version will enter the European market this year at an equivalent price of 127 thousand dollars, followed by the other versions in spring 2027.
