The American New York Times reported, citing several military officials, that the country is devising a short, intense attack plan against Iran, with the attack specifically intended to destroy drones and ballistic missiles.
The newspaper’s report coincides with the movement of three American aircraft carriers toward the Middle East, with all three vessels expected to reach their designated destination in the near future.
The newspaper clarified in its report that the Department of Defense (Pentagon), on Donald Trump’s orders, has drawn up a plan to strike Iran’s and Yemen’s Houthis’ drone and missile stockpiles, and for this purpose 5 plans have been put forward.
It also indicated that Trump’s national security team, chaired by Vice President J.D. Vance, is examining all five plans in order to carry out a short-term, intense attack against Iran and the Houthis.
On Thursday yesterday, Donald Trump indicated in a press statement that they had held productive talks with Iran in recent days.
He also indicated that, before the date of the congressional midterm elections, which are scheduled to be held on 3/11/2026, they will not carry out any attack or military action against Iran.
