The Presidency of the Iraqi Council of Representatives accepted the Iraqi prime minister’s proposal to set a day for voting on the deputy prime ministers and the remaining ministers in the Iraqi government’s cabinet.
Ali Zaidi, Iraq’s prime minister, had formally proposed to the Iraqi Council of Representatives on Tuesday that Thursday be designated for a special session to vote on completing the Iraqi government’s cabinet.
That same evening, the Iraqi Council of Representatives formally accepted the proposal and, in an official letter, designated Thursday for holding this special parliamentary session.
The Iraqi Council of Representatives stated in the letter: On Thursday at seven in the evening, voting will be held on the deputy prime ministers and those ministries for which no minister has yet been appointed.
In the cabinet of Ali Zaidi, Iraq’s prime minister, the matter of voting on 9 ministerial positions remains unresolved; it has also been agreed that Iraq’s prime minister will have four deputies, one of whom will be allocated to the Kurds.
