Iran's Parliament Speaker responded to the US Secretary of State's remarks about the awakening of the West and warned that anyone who follows in the footsteps of historical invaders will be forced to kneel before the Iranian people.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran's Parliament Speaker, responded in a post on the social media platform "X" to remarks by Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, stating: The Iranian people have throughout history continued to confront those who, in their imagination, wanted to erase ancient civilizations. He also warned that those countries that came against Iran with fire and fury ultimately retreated in humiliation and disgrace.
Iran's Parliament Speaker noted that anyone who wants to follow in the footsteps of historical invaders will meet the fate of "Valerian," who was forced to kneel before the Iranian people. This message was also a response to Marco Rubio's remarks, in which he had spoken of rekindling the flame of ancient Greek civilization and the awakening of the West.
This political and historical dispute between the two sides comes at a time when the decades-long confrontation between Washington and Tehran, due to political issues, has reached a highly sensitive historical stage. Through these remarks, Ghalibaf is also reiterating Iran's message of defense and resistance in response to statements directed at Tehran with civilizational and historical dimensions.
