The U.S. special envoy for Iraq and Syria revealed that there is a strong possibility his country will launch a military strike against Iran this weekend; he simultaneously stressed that despite being prepared to strike, Washington is not seeking regime change in that country, but rather aims to restore the balance and put an end to the threats.
On Friday, Tom Barrack, the U.S. ambassador to Turkey and the country’s special envoy for Iraq and Syria, said in an interview: There is a possibility that the United States will launch a military strike against Iran this weekend, and this option is fully on the table.
The U.S. envoy went on to address the White House’s position, stating: Trump has a very clear position; he is always ready, and the door to an agreement is open, and we have also been continuously at the negotiating table for several months.
He also noted that issues related to nuclear weapons, the level of uranium enrichment, and all those conditions are merely details of this stage that must be brought to an end.
