Following the attack on the international airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education decided that all schools in the capital would switch to online learning throughout this week.
Today, Sunday 11 of October 2026, the Agence France-Presse news agency reported: According to an email addressed to students’ parents, all schools in the city of Riyadh have switched from today, Sunday, to an online learning system as a precautionary measure following Saturday’s attack on King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, which was attributed to Iran-aligned Houthi militants in Yemen.
The email stated that, in line with the Ministry of Education’s guidelines, all schools in the city of Riyadh would conduct lessons online throughout this week. It also noted that this is the second time in a short period that such a measure has been adopted in Saudi Arabia’s capital.
