The company said that although an Iraqi court had issued an immediately enforceable ruling overturning the decision of the president of the Communications and Media Commission concerning the cancellation of the unification agreement, the commission’s president continues to insist on his unlawful decisions and proceedings.
In its statement, Korek Telecom said: "The commission’s president has not only failed to comply with the court ruling, but is also attempting to devise new justifications to continue his unlawful measures against our company."
The statement further said that Korek Telecom reserves its right to seek compensation for the losses it has incurred as a result of the failure to implement the court ruling.
The company also noted that the measures taken against it were premature, as the president of the Communications Commission, in a letter dated October 29, 2026, attempted to provide justification for decisions issued on November 1, 2026.
At the end of the statement, Korek Telecom asked with concern: "Is it legitimate for the decision of an administrator to supersede the rulings and decisions of the Iraqi courts?"
