A guard was killed after gunmen opened fire on an oil refinery near the borders of Kirkuk province. Halw Jabbari, Kurdistan TV’s correspondent in Kirkuk, reported that on Thursday, November 5, 2026, two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on an oil refinery near the village of Darman, within Kirkuk province.
One guard, identified as Rizgar Qadir, was killed in the shooting, while three other guards were wounded.
The refinery targeted in the shooting is called "Saqr Asi." According to reports, its owner was killed two years ago, and three defendants in that case were sentenced to death.
