Germany’s Foreign Ministry summoned Majid Nili Ahmadabadi, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in protest against plans to attack prominent figures in the Jewish community and affiliated activists.
Berlin said in a pointed message on the social media platform X today, Monday, October 19, that the German government “will not tolerate attacks on the Jewish community and its defenders anywhere in the world—especially on German soil.”
Referring directly to the “dangers and targeted assassination attempts” against Josef Schuster, president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, and Volker Beck, a former member of parliament and president of the German-Israeli Association, Germany’s diplomatic service warned that such actions would not go without severe legal and judicial consequences.
Germany’s Foreign Ministry, while strongly condemning these actions by Tehran, stated: “We will not allow the Iranian government to endanger the security and freedom of our society.”
