The spokesperson for Iraq’s central bank announced that, owing to the prime minister’s diplomatic efforts, the U.S. Federal Reserve had agreed to provide a continuous supply of liquidity, and that a new shipment of cash dollars worth one billion dollars would soon arrive in Iraq to strengthen the value of the dinar.
On Sunday, 25 October 2026, Mahmoud Dagher, adviser to the governor and spokesperson for Iraq’s central bank, announced: The diplomatic efforts and measures by Prime Minister Ali Zaidi to secure the U.S. Federal Reserve’s agreement to provide a continuous supply of foreign-currency liquidity (cash) had been successful, and a new shipment of cash dollars worth one billion dollars was expected to arrive in Iraq soon.
Mahmoud Dagher revealed that the value of each new shipment was approximately 500 million dollars, while the continued inflow of this foreign currency would play a significant role in controlling the foreign-exchange market and eliminating imbalances.
According to Iraqi central bank experts, implementing this plan to increase liquidity would directly strengthen the value of the Iraqi dinar against foreign currencies and create stability across all domestic exchange markets.
