The Arab Coalition spokesman in Yemen said 100 warplanes took part at dawn today in the "Yemen Dawn" operation and 324 key targets were destroyed, while air protection for the Bab al-Mandab Strait was secured.
Today, Monday, 5 October 2026, Major General Turki al-Maliki, official spokesman for the forces of the "Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen", said in a statement that (100) warplanes took part at dawn today in the "Yemen Dawn" operation, while continuous 24-hour air support is being provided to Yemen’s armed forces on the ground.
The statement said: With the launch of the "Yemen Dawn" operation, (324) important and valuable targets were destroyed, while targeting of moving targets is also continuing.
The spokesman for the coalition forces also noted that, as part of its military efforts, the Arab Coalition is providing full air protection for the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait.
The operation came after the Houthis intensified their attacks on Yemeni forces last month and advanced toward the Red Sea coast and the Bab al-Mandab Strait area.
After several years of calm, clashes resumed in Yemen last July, coinciding with the collapse of the ceasefire concluded in 2022 between the Houthis and Yemen’s legitimate government, against the backdrop of the widening circle of war in the Middle East between Iran and the United States.
