The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation extended the suspension of activities at King Khalid Airport in Riyadh until the completion of the facility’s safety assessment; the measure came after the Houthis’ military spokesperson announced that they had again attacked the airport and the Khamis Mushait base with missiles.
For its part, the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen announced that it had intercepted a ballistic missile launched towards Riyadh and Khamis Mushait and that it had fallen.
On the other hand, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the political office of the Ansar Allah movement (the Houthis), told Agence France-Presse: «If America intervenes in the aggression against Yemen, we will not hesitate or sit and deliberate over a response; rather, we will show a swift and painful reaction that will target all its interests in the region, wherever we can reach them.»
Al-Bukhaiti warned all employees and workers at Saudi oil facilities and airports to stay away from those places, as they had become a legitimate target for Yemen; especially given that the situation was moving towards a complete escalation of tensions.
Earlier, this Houthi leader had announced the failure of Iran’s efforts to establish a ceasefire, saying: «Saudi Arabia requested a one-month halt to the war and we rejected it; then it requested two weeks, which we also rejected, and we demand a definitive halt to the war and a complete end to the blockade and attacks.»
The Yemeni Houthis’ threat against America came after US President Donald Trump announced that he had discussed the war with the Houthis with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and described the Houthis’ actions as «very bad».
