The Sulaymaniyah Forest and Environment Police Directorate announced that its units in the Pira Magrun district arrested a citizen on charges of capturing and keeping a wild bird at his home.
According to a statement from the Sulaymaniyah Forest and Environment Police, after receiving information about a citizen who had hunted a wild bird of the “eagle” species and kept it at his home, a unit from the Pira Magrun Forest and Environment Police station immediately went to the location by order of a judge.
The statement said that police forces seized the wild bird and arrested the citizen on charges of illegal hunting. An investigative file has also been opened into the incident and referred to a judge for legal measures to be taken against the accused.
