This morning, Tuesday 13 October, Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, received Tuncer Bakırhan, co-chair of Turkey’s Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), in Erbil.
During the meeting, the peace process in Turkey and its latest developments were discussed. The two sides emphasized the importance of seizing this historic opportunity to achieve peace and reiterated that this opportunity must not be missed. The need for all currents to support the process was also noted.
The President of the Kurdistan Region reiterated his support for the peace process, declared his readiness to provide any assistance necessary for its success, and emphasized the importance of peace for the security and stability of Turkey and the entire region.
For his part, Tuncer Bakırhan expressed his and the DEM Party’s thanks and appreciation for the Kurdistan Region President’s positions and continued efforts to assist and support the process.
