On Wednesday 2026/10/14, Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, received Gwendoline Green, the US consul general to the Kurdistan Region, in Erbil.
The meeting addressed US relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, the internal situation in the Kurdistan Region, and relations between Erbil and Baghdad.
In this context, both sides agreed on the need for internal solidarity, efforts, and accelerating steps to form the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Resolving problems between Erbil and Baghdad on the basis of the constitution and preserving stability, along with the latest political and security developments in the region in general, was another focus of the meeting.
