The Interior Ministry of the Kurdistan Regional Government has decided to apply a major discount of up to 75% on fines related to the expiration of visas and residency permits for foreign nationals.
The Interior Ministry announced: On the order of Interior Minister Rebar Ahmed, it was decided that a 75% discount would be applied to late-renewal fines for visas and residency permits for foreign nationals.
The ministry also announced: Under Order No. (32557), issued on 15 October 2026, foreign nationals who entered the Kurdistan Region officially and through a visa and, for any reason, were unable to renew their visas, or did not convert them into residency permits, or had residency permits that have expired, will be charged only 25% of the total late-payment fines specified in Instruction No. (1 of 2021) if they visit one of the residency directorates by 31 December 2026.
