US Secretary of State Marco Rubio strongly condemned the Houthis’ attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, stating that the attack had resulted in the deaths of several civilians, including a US citizen.
According to official figures, at least twelve people were killed and more than 300 people were injured in Saturday’s attack. Among the victims are one US citizen, four Saudis, and citizens of Bangladesh, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan and Egypt.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Rubio described the attack as a heinous act and said it showed that the Houthis attach no importance to the lives of innocent people.
The US Secretary of State called for an immediate halt to these attacks and, while reaffirming US support for Saudi Arabia, expressed his sympathy to the victims’ families.
