Today, Saturday, October 31, 2026, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said his country would no longer be bound by any red lines in defending its people, warning that any party daring to attack Iranian territory would receive a devastating military response.
In a message on the “X” platform, Abbas Araghchi responded to remarks by Friedrich Merz, the German chancellor, who had welcomed the US and Israeli attacks on Iran. Iran’s foreign minister sharply lashed out at Merz, accusing the US forces of “doing dirty work in the name of Europe.” He also said that the €100 billion figure in no way compared with the devastating blows Iran’s armed forces would deliver to any party threatening its people.
The Iranian foreign minister’s threatening message will further deepen the diplomatic and military tensions between Tehran and Western countries, while also signaling that the Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to change the regional balance of defense.
