A Message from President Barzani
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate and Most Merciful, on the occasion of the resumption of the Kurdistan Region Parliament, I congratulate the people of Kurdistan, the parliamentary presidency and all political parties.
Fortunately, two years after the Kurdistan Region elections, it has been possible to reactivate the Kurdistan Parliament. I would like to thank all the parliamentarians who took a position, fulfilled their legal and national duties, and reactivated this constitutional institution of the Region.
The reactivation of parliament is a step toward protecting and strengthening the Kurdistan Region. It is not directed against any person or party and will certainly serve the higher interests of the people of Kurdistan and the political process.
Now that parliament has begun its work, I call on all respected parties that did not participate in this process to join it and work together to serve the people of Kurdistan and support the political process in taking further steps.
