Today, Saturday, November 7, 2026, the U.S. State Department’s Rewards for Justice program announced that it is offering a financial reward of up to $20 million, along with the opportunity for resettlement—or asylum—in another country, in exchange for detailed intelligence on Iran’s nuclear program.
The announcement said the reward covers all data related to the institutions, specialized equipment and devices, activities, personnel and scientific centers involved in nuclear activities.
The U.S. announcement comes after a 2025 report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which confirmed that Iran had raised its uranium enrichment activities to a purity level of 60%. This is considered a highly dangerous technical threshold, leaving the country just one step below the 90% level required to produce nuclear weapons.
The United States notes that Iran is the only country without nuclear weapons to have reached this high level of enrichment, amid warnings from international experts about the possibility of producing enough material to build several nuclear bombs if the enrichment process continues.
The U.S. statement concluded by saying that the International Atomic Energy Agency had warned of the consequences of “the Iranian regime’s failure to comply with its safeguards and monitoring commitments.” This has weakened the agency’s capabilities and caused it to lose the basis for “continuity of knowledge” in monitoring and tracking Iran’s centrifuge equipment stockpiles and the key components of its nuclear program.
