Today, Sunday, November 1, 2026, Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council announced that the Second Karkh Investigative Court had recovered (21 billion and 424 million) Iraqi dinars linked to a financial fraud offense.
The statement said the money was recovered from two companies that had violated the law and obtained the exchange-rate difference on the dollar by fraudulently conducting money transfers abroad.
The Supreme Judicial Council also said the funds were recovered through a major effort by the Second Karkh Investigative Court under the supervision of the court’s first investigating judge. It stressed that efforts would continue to take legal action against all companies that resort to illegal means to secure large profits at the expense of harming public funds.
