Trump said last night during an election rally in Iowa: “So far, I have dealt with Iran calmly because I want to save people’s lives, but at some point we will have to deliver a decisive strike against them.”
Iran responded forcefully to the threats. Mohammad Akrami, a spokesman for Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, said: “Any future war will be longer than the previous one, and the U.S. president will not be in a position to determine when the war ends or set its terms.”
Meanwhile, Axios reported, citing U.S. and Israeli sources, that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had asked Trump to attack Iran immediately after the midterm elections. However, according to the information, Trump prefers to allow diplomacy and negotiations to continue.
