Today, Monday, November 2, 2026, Ismail Baghaei, spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, said: "The ball is now in the United States’ court. Our appropriate and logical demands have been clearly put forward, and the Strait of Hormuz will not reopen without our conditions being accepted."
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said there was an opportunity to implement Iran’s proposal in the next few days, adding: "The Strait of Hormuz will not be calm and safe until the maritime blockade is lifted and Iran’s legitimate demands are implemented."
Ismail Baghaei also stressed that there is complete coordination, consensus and unity among all the institutions and parties within the Iranian government responsible for making decisions on this issue.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman described Israel as the primary source of unrest and crises in West Asia. He said the occupied Palestinian territories and the continuation of mass killings there are at the heart of developments in the region, adding that more than 10 people were martyred in Israeli attacks yesterday alone.
