The leader of the hiking group said that strong winds and dense fog had caused them to lose their way and become slightly separated, but that they were all safe. He noted that, according to the designated route, they would return to their vehicles within an hour.
Earlier, Soran Civil Defense had announced that a seven-member hiking group had gone missing due to deteriorating weather conditions and unfamiliarity with the area, and that six teams were searching for them. However, according to the latest information, the locations of two members had been identified, while the others were making their way back to a safe area.
The Soran and Sidekan civil defense teams also remain on standby until all members of the group are confirmed to have reached a safe area.
